Saha Airlines

Saha Air was an Iranian airline based in Tehran and based at the airport, Tehran - Mehrabad.

History

Saha Air was founded in 1990.

On 27 July 2012, the company was aufgrunf of safety concerns temporarily deprived of his license by the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority, in August 2012, however, it has resumed operation. After the operation of the two Boeing 707 had been suspended in April 2013 without notice, no flights have since been carried out until further notice.

Destinations

Saha Air offered exclusively to flights within Iran. From Tehran from Mashhad, Kish, Shiraz, Aslavie and Tschahbahar were served.

Fleet

Last consisted with as of January 2013, the fleet of seven aircraft from Saha Air:

  • 2 Airbus A300- 600R ( operated by Meraj Air)
  • 3 Boeing 707-300
  • 2 Boeing 747- 200F ( cargo aircraft )

Saha Air was the last airline in the world, the Boeing 707 began in airline service. Many people traveled from all countries only for a flight with this aircraft to Iran.

Incidents

  • On 26 October 2008, the Boeing 707 celebrated in Iran as the first jet in aviation history, their 50-year service as a passenger aircraft with a scheduled flight from Tehran - Mehrabad Saha Air to Mashhad. The anniversary flight with flight number IRZ 160 but ended after about 20 minutes of flight time due to technical problems with the hydraulic system of the aircraft with the registration EP- SHU with a successful emergency landing back in Tehran Mehrabad.
