Sai Mai District

Sai Mai ( Thai: สายไหม ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet ) of Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring districts are from clockwise from the North: Amphoe Lam Luk Ka in Pathum Thani province and the following Khet Bangkok Khlong Sam Wa, Bang Khen, Lak Si and Don Mueang.

History

Sai Mai was originally the name of Khu Khot Muban in Tambon ( Amphoe Lam Luk Ka of Pathum Thani Province ). It was transferred to the Amphoe Bang Khen, collected in 1940 in the tambon status. Due to the rapid population growth in the area was named Khet to improve the service of the administration Sai Mai October 14, 1997.

Parish council

The council of the district of Sai Mai has eight members, each member shall be elected for four years. The last election was held on 30 April 2006 the results. :
