The Saint -Joseph University ( Université Saint -Joseph French ) is a confessional, non-governmental University in Beirut, which was founded by the Jesuits in 1875. Teaching languages ​​are French and Arabic.

Today, it is with about 7,000 students one of the major universities in the Middle East. The University for its university hospital " Hôtel Dieu " as well as the philological, engineering and theological faculties as well as for some research centers, CEDRAC and the Oriental Library is known.

Since 2010, the Beirut college sports festival is conducted at the Saint -Joseph University. So far, universities have participated from 19 countries in this tournament.
