The Saint Leo University is a private university in Roman Catholic-run with headquarters in Saint Leo near San Antonio, Florida.

The college was founded on June 4, 1889 and is closely connected with the Benedictine Holy Name Monastery and Saint Leo Abbey. In 1959 she was awarded the status of a college in 1999, she received the university status. It is one of the leading universities for the training of the U.S. military. Apart from the main University in St. Leo, there are offices in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Orlando. The Saint Leo University has over 14,500 students, including 1,500 in St. Leo, 7600 on various military bases in five U.S. states and more than 4,000 distance students.

Known Anastasio Somoza Debayle alumni, former President of Nicaragua, the Cuban musician Desi Arnaz and the actor Lee Marvin.
