Saint Lucy (Barbados)

Saint Lucy ( " St. Lucy" ) is an administrative unit ( Parish ) of the island nation of Barbados. She had after the census of 2000 9328 inhabitants in an area of 36 km ². St. Lucy is the northernmost parish of Barbados. The name comes from the church of St. Lucy.

St. Lucy Parish consists of about 50 scattered settlements. Center is the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 1C, where the Church of St. Lucy, and not far away is the Secondary School in the village of Nesfield. The police station of St. Lucy 's Crab Hill to the north. However largest settlement by population is Checker Hill, at the point where the coast road turns into the island's interior, far from the cement factory.
