The parish church of Saint- Vincent- de -Paul in Paris, 10th arrondissement, is dedicated to St. Vincent de Paul.

History

The church was built in the 19th century on the site of the historic house Saint Lazare. Housed 1632-1793 Congregation of the Mission de la founded by Vincent de Paul, he lived and worked here.

The plans of the church were originally entrusted to the then very prestigious architect Jean -Baptiste Lepère. The foundation stone was laid in August 1824 in the presence of the prefect of the department Seine Gaspard de Chabrol and the Archbishop of Paris Hyacinthe -Louis de Quélen.

Work on the construction progressed slowly and were at times even interrupted. Funding problems and probably also the July Revolution of 1830 delayed the project.
