History

The concentrically around a castle grown from the 11th and 12th century medieval town is mentioned in 1383 as Sancta Eulalia rib Oltis. Eulalia of Mérida, which is celebrated in France since the 9th century in the so-called Eulalia sequence is thus the patron saint of the place. Olt (more precisely, the OLT ) is the Occitan name of the River Lot and rib is presumably with " bank " to translate.
