Saki Kumagai

Saki Kumagai (Japanese熊 谷 纱 希, Saki Kumagai, born October 17, 1990 in Sapporo, Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese football player.

Club career

Kumagai played in the years 2009 to 2011 with the club Urawa Red Diamonds. She moved in May 2011 to German Cup Winner 1st FFC Frankfurt. For the 2013/14 season Kumagai changes to Olympique Lyon.

National

Kumagai played after 2008 also at the U- 20 World Cup 2010 in Germany for the Japanese U-20 national team. She completed all six games at the 6th Women's World Cup 2011 in Germany. Kumagai scored the third goal against USA in a penalty shootout, which the world title meant.

Kumagai also belonged to the Japanese squad for the Olympic Games in London. She stood in all six games in the starting lineup and played over the full distance in each case, including in the 1:2 lost against the USA finals and won the silver medal with her team.
