Åžakir Bilgin

Şakir Bilgin ( * 1951 in Turkey ) is a Turkish author living in Germany.

Bilgin taught after his training until 1973 at a Turkish elementary school, he studied sports at the Pedagogical University in Istanbul. In 1976, he joined the Federal Republic of Germany, and sat here his sports studies at the German Sport University in Cologne on. From 1978 to 2003 he worked as Turkish and sports teacher at various schools in Cologne.

On 12 January 1983 Şakir Bilgin was arrested during a vacation in Turkey and by reason of the unauthorized accusations of being a member of the banned organization in Turkey Dev- Sol, before a military court. It was only on 27 February 1986, he received parole, in the summer of 1987 he returned with his family returned to the Federal Republic of Germany.

He is the author of several books. About the time of his arrest, torture, psychological terror, but also the camaraderie among the prisoners, insistently reported his book Everyday cries the sun. In the last two books in Turkish Şakir Bilgin told by a Turkish girl who was born in Cologne and raised. Entitled My name is Meryem, not Miriam these two books were published in one volume on German culture from the International plant in Hildesheim.
