Salavan Province

Salavan (also: Saravane or Saravan, Lao ສາ ລະ ວັນ ) is a province in the south of Laos.

Geography

The Salavan province is bordered on the north by the province of Savannakhet, on the southwest by the province of Champasak and Sekong province on the southeast by the. The western boundary of the province is formed by the Mekong River, on the opposite bank, the Ubon Ratchathani province is located in Thailand. In the east Salavan borders the province of Quang Tri in Vietnam.

The province is located in part on the Bolaven Plateau.
