Sally Hamwee, Baroness Hamwee

Sally Rachel, Baroness Hamwee ( born January 12, 1947) is a British politician of the Liberal Democrats. She is Life Peer and former chairman of the London Assembly.

Sally Hamwee went to the Manchester High School for Girls. They 1978-1998 Councillor in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and was raised in 1991 as Baroness Hamwee for Life Peer.

When initiating session 2000, a written agreement mi of the Labour Party was closed, which provided for a division of the Presidency between Sally Hamwee and Trevor Phillips. Trevor Phillips took over the presidency in 2000 and handed it over in May 2001 to Sally Hamwee. Trevor Phillips was then Chairman from May 2002 to September 2002; Trevor Philips then his seat in the Assembly resigned to accept the presidency of the Commission for Racial Equality, she took over countries chaired by the end of its term in 2004.

The outcome of the 2004 election led to a similar result as in the previous legislature, this time between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. Sally Hamwee taking over the presidency from May 2005 to May 2006 and from May 2007 to the end of the legislative period.

She lost her seat in May 2008.

In the House of Lords she was spokeswoman for the Liberaldemokratenfür regional and local Angelegenheitenund in November 2009, she was spokesperson for interior policy.

Hamwee is Vice President of parity.
