Salomon Idler

Salomon Idler ( born February 11, 1610 Cannstatt, † probably 1669 in Augsburg ) was a German shoemaker and failed Augsburg aviation pioneer.

Life

In his first and last attempt to fly with two self-built wings on both arms he lost control of his aircraft and crashed on a bridge, which collapsed from the force of the impact. Four chickens, who were at that time under the bridge, died. After his unsuccessful attempt to fly he burned his flying apparatus in a field near Augsburg- Oberhausen.
