Salomon Olembé

René Salomon Olembé Olembé ( born December 8, 1980 in Yaoundé ) is a Cameroonian football player. Olembé which is used variably to the left, has both the Cameroonian and French nationality. He is currently in Greece AE Larisa under contract.

Career

Association

Olembés career began in 1994 when then 14- year-old in his home country at Diamond Yaounde. There, however, he only played a year before European teams were aware of him. Finally, he decided in the summer of 1995 in the French tradition club FC Nantes to sign. There he went through the first youth departments, before he had his first appearance in Ligue 1 1997. During the 1997/98 season, he completed eight more games.

In the following years he developed into a mainstay in the team. His greatest successes he celebrated the Cup victory in 1999 and 2000 and at the French Championship in 2001. Was not until he ran aground in the season 2001 /02 only 13 times for Nantes, he opted for a change ( total of 103 games, 7 goals).

In the summer of 2002, he moved for the transfer fee of two million euros to Olympique Marseille. In the first year he delivered from only 8 games and disappointed. But already in the following season he was able to prevail ran 27 times on the South of France. Nevertheless, the club let him draw and lent him for a year to England from Leeds United ( 12 games). After returning to Marseille, he could win a regular place during the 2004/ 05 season, but played regular games. Although the subsequent season was already a few days old game, the club decided again to give the defender. This time was Al- Rayyan Sports Club of Qatar 's bid to Cameroonian national team. There he was able to achieve three goals in 14 games. After a mixed season 2005/2006 he returned in the summer of 2006 back to Marseille. After another year with little inserts in the summer of 2008 he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig Kayserispor.

National

Olembé is current national team of Cameroon. He was in the squad of the 1998 World Cup in France and the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea. In 2001 he also took part in the Conferderations Cup. He was also a participant at the African Championships in 2002 in Mali and 2004 in Tunisia, where he won the final with Cameroon in 2002.

Since 1997, he completed 65 games for the colors of his country and was able to mark 4 goals. (July 2009)
