Sālote Tupou III

Salote Tupou III. ( full name: Salote Tupou III Mafileo Pilolevu; * March 13, 1900, † December 16, 1965 ) was from 1918 until her death Queen of the South Pacific Kingdom of Tonga.

As the daughter of George Tupou II and his first wife Lavinia Veiongo, she mounted after his death the throne of the island kingdom. In 1917 she married Viliami Tungi Mailefihi, an important Tongan chief. The marriage sprang three children:
