Salton City is a census -designated place in Imperial County in the south of the U.S. state of California. Salton City is located near the Salton Sea on the border of Anza -Borrego Desert State Park. Salton City has according to the state of the 2010 census, collected 3763 inhabitants in an area of 56 km ². The population has thus more than tripled since 2000, because at the time of census 2000, there were 978 people in Salton City. The place is located on the California State Route 86
