The Canary Island Sage ( Salvia canariensis ) is a plant of the genus sage (Salvia ) and belongs to the mint family ( Lamiaceae).
Description
The shrub reaches stature heights between 100 to 250 centimeters. The leaves are green to densely white tomentose. Their shape is lanceolate to triangular, the reason they are pike -shaped. The leaf margin is entire, notched up fine. The sheets reach a length of about 12 cm. The showy purple bracts are ovate and longer than the calyx stumpfzipfelige. The crown is about 20 mm long and is pink to dark purple, with crescent-shaped upper lip.
Bloom time is from February to June.
Occurrence
The Canaries Sage grows only in the Canary Islands. The species prefers especially the succulent and the pine forest region.
