Sam Aaron Baker
Samuel Aaron Baker ( born November 7, 1874 in Patterson, Wayne County, Missouri, † September 16, 1933 in Jefferson City, Missouri ) was an American politician ( Republican) and from 1925 to 1929 the 36th Governor of Missouri.
Early years and political rise
Baker attended the Southeast Missouri State Teachers College. He then studied at the Missouri Valley College Jura. In the following years he worked in the education sector. He taught as a teacher at schools in Wayne County. In addition, he was also a teacher and school board in various other districts of the state. Between 1919 and 1923 he served as Superintendent of Schools in the government of Missouri, which roughly corresponds to a cultural or the Minister of Education. On November 4, 1924, elected as the new governor of his state.
Governor of Missouri
Baker took up his new post on January 12, 1925. In his four-year tenure, the banking system was reformed in Missouri. The road development was further advanced, thereby improving the country's infrastructure. In these years, the economy of Missouri profited from the general upturn.

After the expiration of his term in January 1929, Baker retired from politics and returned to his private affairs. He died in September 1933 and was buried in Jefferson City. Samuel Baker was married to Nelle TUCKLEY, with whom he had a child.
