Sam Balter

Samuel "Sam" Balter, Jr. (* October 15, 1909 in Detroit, Michigan, USA; † August 8, 1998 ) was an American professional basketball player. He won the gold medal at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin with the U.S. team. Balter wanted because of his Jewish origin was not originally play in Nazi Germany, he was to participate but was persuaded by Avery Brundage.

Balter was later sports reporter in Los Angeles, where he initially worked for the radio and later for television. He also appeared in several films and television programs, where he always represented a radio reporter and sports reporter.
