Sambuca (siege engine)

The drawbridge (Greek sambýke; Latin sambuca ) was a device that has been used in ancient times during a siege.

The drawbridge was either a tension plate on convertible tower, an attack mechanism, or it was hung up on moving car between masts. With the help of drawbridges besiegers attempted to gain access to the wall and thus allow an attack. The event bridges were usually arranged so that they raised the storming columns covered, the opponents threatened by their severity on the opposite wall and settled the Charge attack paved the way.

Similar systems there used on ships to board other ships.
