Samko District
Amphoe Samko ( Thai อำเภอ สามโก้ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the western part of the province of Ang Thong. The Ang Thong province is located in the central region of Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Pho Thong and Wiset Chai Chan in the province of Ang Thong and Amphoe Si Prachan the province of Suphanburi.
History
Samko has been mentioned in the Royal Chronicles of Ayutthaya. Burmese troops camped here before they attacked the capital of Ayutthaya.
The county Samko was separated in 1962 from Amphoe Wiset Chai Chan and thus became a sub-district ( King Amphoe ). In 1965, he got the full Amphoe status.

The Amphoe Samko is divided into five communities ( tambon), which are further in 37 village communities ( Muban ) are divided ..
The small town ( thesaban tambon) Samko ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สามโก้ ) covers the tambon Samko, Ratsadon Phatthana and Mongkhon Tham Nimit.
There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
