Sampson Gideon

Sampson Gideon (* 1699, † 1762) was a wealthy banker in London. He was appointed by Robert Walpole to the financial advisor. He stood up for the Jews Act of 1753, which was intended to counteract the discrimination against the Jews. After his death his influence was transferred to Francis and Josoph Salvador in the bank. His daughter Elizabeth was the wife of the politician William Gage, 2nd Viscount Gage.
