Samsat

Samsat is a young city and at the same time a district in the Turkish province of Adiyaman in Southeast Anatolia. The town has 4367 inhabitants Samsat and the county 9,872 (as of 2010 ). Samsat is located in the south of the province, bordering the province of Şanlıurfa near the Ataturk Dam.

Samsat was founded in 1988 to accommodate the inhabitants of Samosata, that sank in the waters of the reservoir.
