Samuel Bogley

Samuel Walter Bogley ( born November 16, 1941 in Washington DC) is an American politician. Between 1979 and 1982 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Maryland.

Career

Samuel Bogley attended the common schools, Duke University and the University of Maryland. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Baltimore and his 1968 was admitted as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. In his home, he held several local offices. In 1970 he was elected to the county council in Prince George's County.

In 1978 Bogley was elected Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. This post he held between 1979 and 1982. Yet he was Deputy Governor Harry Hughes. In September 1988 he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan in the authority Merit Systems Protection Board, which deals with the rights of federal employees. Later he practiced again as a private lawyer.

With his wife, Rita, he has eight children.
