Samvel Aslanyan

Samwel Owikowitsch Aslanjan (Russian Самвел Овикович Асланян; born February 23, 1986 in Voronezh, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union ) is a Russian handball player.

Aslanjan was born the son of an Armenian and a Russian mother in Voronezh. The 1.90 meter tall and 90 kilogram right back player started in the Children's and Youth Sports School Voronezh with the Handball, played from 2002 Energiya Voronezh and is since 2006 Medwedi Chekhov contracted from 2007 in the first team. With Medwedi Chekhov, he was in 2008 and 2009 Russian champion and 2009 Cup Winners' Cup and he played in the seasons 2007/08 to 2009/ 10 in the EHF Champions League and with Voronezh 2003/ 04 EHF Challenge Cup.

Samwel Aslanjan scored in 70 appearances for the Russian national team 106 goals (as of December 2013). He played at the Olympic Games in 2008 and at the European Handball Championships in 2010 and 2012.

Aslanjan completed his studies in 2008 at the National Sports University in Voronezh. He is married.
