Samy Deluxe is the first solo album by the rapper of the same name. It was released on 20 April 2001 on the EMI label. In Germany, the album received a gold record because they sell more than 150,000 units.

Production

The album was mostly from the producers of Dynamite Deluxe, drip (ten beats ) and DJ Dynamite ( five beats ) produced. The Hamburg producer Sleepwalker created the instrumentals to two songs and a beat comes from Don Dougie. Samy Deluxe itself acted as executive producer.

Cover design

The album cover is kept simple. It shows the logo of Samy Deluxe (one S, which resembles a dollar sign) in golden color on dark brown background, reminiscent of the leather cover of a book.

Guest Posts

In three songs of the album guest contributions from other rappers are to be found. The later collabo partner of Samy Deluxe Afrob is the song So you want to hear it. In Eppendorf and session Samy Deluxe gets support from the Hamburg rapper Illo 77, wherein on the latter track Dendemann and Nico Suave are also represented.

The album debuted in the 19th calendar week of 2001 at # 2 in the German charts. In the following weeks it occupied the positions 7; 10 and 19 Overall remained Samy Deluxe 31 weeks in the top 100
