The San Bernardino Mountains ( Huwaaly Kwasakyav in the language of Mohave ) is a short, belonging to the Transverse Ranges mountain range north and east of San Bernardino in Southern California in the United States. The highest mountain is the San Gorgonio Mountain, which is 3,505 meters, also the highest peak in Southern California.

Location

Waters

The construction of the dam at Lake Arrowhead reservoir was begun in 1904; it was not completed until 1922. He served the irrigation in the San Bernardino Valley. The 1971 jammed Silverwood Lake serves as part of the California State Water Project as the other water supply.

Among the most important, springing in the San Bernardino Mountains rivers include the Santa Ana River and the Mojave River. The Santa Barbara River is the largest river in Southern California and flows some 177 kilometers at Huntington Beach in the Pacific. The Mojave River flows in the opposite direction to the north and ends at Soda Lake, a salt lake in the middle of the desert.
