San Isidro de Iruya

San Isidro ( San Isidro de Iruya also ) is a small village in northwestern Argentina. It is part of the Department Iruya in Salta Province and lies on the Rio San Isidro, 8 km north- northwest of the village Iruya. San Isidro has about 350 inhabitants. The place consists of the districts Pueblo Viejo (not to be confused with the village of Pueblo Viejo), Pumayoc, La Laguna, Trihuasi, La Palmera and La Cueva.

The village has a school ( escuela N ° 4283 ) in the district of Pueblo Viejo. By January 2010, the village was without electricity.

On May 15, the Patron Saint San Isidro Labrador takes place.

Others

In 1900 the Yugoslav Manuel Frederich Milatovich undertook in San Isidro flight tests with a home-built aircraft, with whom he wanted to fly to the station Iturbe in the Province of Jujuy. In a test flight, the aircraft crashed in the river. Milatovich survived the fall.
