San Jerónimo District, Luya

The district is one of the San Jerónimo 23 Peruvian districts, which form the province of Luya in the region of the Amazon.

It is bordered on the northeast by the province Bongará, in the southeast on the San Cristobal district, on the west by the district of Santa Catalina and on the northwest by the province Utcubamba.

As district of San Jerónimo was founded on 5 February 1861. The population is around 950 inhabitants. The district capital is the village Paclas. The village feast of Paclas is celebrated on August 5.

The district covers an area of approximately 214 km ².
