San José Province

San José is a province in Costa Rica. It lies in the center of the country to the capital San José, which is also the capital of the province at the same time.

Neighboring provinces are Alajuela, Heredia, Cartago, Limón and Puntarenas. The San José province has an area of ​​4965.3 km ² and has 1,404,242 (2011) inhabitants.
