San Ramón, Junín

San Ramón is the second largest city in the province Chanchamayo in the region of Junín, the Andean eastern slope of the Cordillera Oriental of Peru. It has a population of about 7,500 inhabitants and is situated at an altitude of 770 m above sea level.

The city lies at the confluence of the Río Oxabamba and Río Tulumayo, which unite at San Ramón to the Río Chanchamayo. West of the city, among others the summit of the Cerro Toro Huajrashga. The downstream nearest city is the provincial capital of La Merced in almost 10 kilometers away.
