Sandersville Railroad

The Sandersville Railroad (AAR reporting mark: SAN ) is a Local Railroad Railroad Company in the State of Georgia in Washington County. The company operates a 12 km long stretch of Tennille about Sandersville after kaolin. The company is based Sandersville.

History

The Company was incorporated on 18 September 1893. The owners, business people from Sandersville, so tried to break the monopoly of the rail network to the Augusta Southern Railroad when connecting the city. The company was supported by the Central of Georgia Railroad ( CofG ), as these reaching the city. In Tennille, the compound ( now Norfolk Southern Railway ) made ​​to the network of CofG.
