Sándor Schwartz

Alexandru Schwartz ( born January 18, 1909 in Marosvásárhely, Austria - Hungary, † 1994) was a Romanian football player. He played 102 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1934.

Career

Schwartz began his career in 1928 at AMEF Arad, but switched in the same year to Hungary Szegedi LC. In 1930 he returned to Romania and joined Ripensia Timişoara on. At the foundation of the Romanian Professional Football League Divizia A two years later Ripensia was one of the founding members and Schwartz came on 11 September 1932 its first operation. At the end of the season he was for the first time with Ripensia masters, and had in the years 1935, 1936 and 1938, three more to follow. In 1939 he left Ripensia after he last came barely used his eye for goal and had had to miss. After a year at Minerul Lupeni in Divizia B he ended his career.

National

Schwartz came to ten appearances for the Romanian national football team, scoring eight goals. His first game he made on September 12, 1932 against France, scoring two goals. Two years later, coach Josef Uridil he was nominated for the FIFA World Cup in Italy, but did not put it on.
