Sandra Dee

Sandra Dee ( born April 23, 1942 in Bayonne, New Jersey; † 20 February 2005 in Thousand Oaks, California; actually Alexandra Zuck Cymboliak ) was an American actress.

Life

Sandra has been " trimmed" as a child by her ambitious mother to the film industry and markets. At the age of twelve, she was hired as a child model and also acted in various television commercials. In 1957 her first movie appearance in the country without men, for which she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actress. Her breakthrough as an actress came in 1959 with the Douglas Sirk film as long as there are people on the side of Lana Turner; the commercial success came in the same year with The Summer Island on the side of Troy Donahue one. Sandra was soon the most popular teen star ( " All-American Darling " ) of their time and played among other things on the side of Peter Ustinov.
