Sandra Lanthaler

Sandra Lanthaler (born 1 February 1984) is a former Italian Naturbahnrodlerin. It was 2002 European Champion and 2002 and 2004 Junior World Champion. Her younger sister Evelin is also Naturbahnrodlerin.

Career

After Lanthaler had already gained international experience at European Junior Championships, she competed at the 2001 World Championships in Stein an der Enns for the first time in a title fight in the general class. The fourth place was just missed the podium. The greatest success of her career, she celebrated early February 2002 at the European Championships in Frantschach - Sankt Gertraud when she was surprisingly scarce eight hundredths of a second Lawrentjewa on the Russian Ekaterina European champion. Three weeks later she won the gold medal also at the Junior World Championships in Gsies.

After she had neither participated in the World Cup still at the European Junior Championship in the winter of 2003, she successfully defended her title at the Junior World Champion in February 2004. Lanthaler won at the Junior World Championships in Kindberg with only one hundredth of a second ahead of her teammate Barbara variety. A week later, however, they scored only ninth place at the 2004 European Championships in Huttau. On 17 January 2004 Lanthaler had denied in Garmisch -Partenkirchen their only World Cup race, which she finished on the third place. After 2004, she accepted no international competitions attended by more.
