Sandro Bocola

Sandro Bocola ( born March 16, 1931 in Trieste ) is an Italian- Swiss writer and artist.

Life and work

Sandro Bocola was born in 1931 in Trieste and grew up in Italy, Libya and Switzerland. After two years of training at the general Basel School Bocola proposed in 1950 a career as a painter. In 1955 he moved to Barcelona, where he temporarily gave up painting in order to work as a graphic designer for advertising. During a ten -year stay in Paris and in 1969 made ​​moving with his family to Zurich Bocola worked as a graphic designer and artist.

After completion of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic training at the Zurich Seminar, he devoted himself from 1975 onwards mainly art -promoting activities as a publisher, curator and as an author of several books on art historical development of modernity.

In summer 2002, he moved into a second home in Barcelona, ​​where he created over the next five years, videos and digital images that combine photographic figuration with geometric design elements to create a visual unity. The moderate response to his first three exhibitions led him in 2007 to adjust its digital experiments.
