St. Martin ( Saint Martin also ) is a market town with 1140 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Gmünd in Lower Austria.

St. Martin is located in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 49.34 square kilometers. 56.48 percent of the area is forested.

Population Development
At the 2001 census, 1177 inhabitants were counted. In 1991, the market town of 1245 inhabitants, 1326 and 1981 in 1971, 1426 inhabitants.
