St. Pantaleon- Erla (also Sankt Pantaleon - Erla ) is a municipality with 2524 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria.

Geography

St. Pantaleon- Erla is located on the western border of Lower Austria in the district east of the mouth of the Most Ennskanals into the Danube. The municipality was formed in 1971 from the two previously separate pile villages. 27.37 percent of the municipality is forested.

Katastralgemeinden that are also simultaneously own localities, are ( population figures according to 2001 census ):

  • Erla ( 13.76 km ², 832 Ew. )
  • St. Pantaleon ( 14.56 km ², 1,705 inhabitants).

In addition to the two main varieties and the two villages and small Erla Pyburg there are 13 smaller villages such as Albing, Arthof, Marksee, stone, Stögen, Wagram, wide field, village, Engelberg, Haslach, Öttl, vineyard and garden.

History

In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the district Albing lie the remains of a Roman legion camp. St. Pantaleon was called in 1200 to after 1400 Zwiesel churches and was the seat of a dominion, while Erla was the seat of a Benedictine monastery since the 12th century, which was dissolved in 1583. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying divided the towns of St. Pantaleon and Erla the eventful history of Austria. On 1 January 1971, the two 1850 created political communities of St. Pantaleon and Erla united voluntarily to the church " St. Pantaleon- Erla ".

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 2,465 inhabitants. In 1991 the municipality had 2,208 inhabitants in 1981 and 1,997 in 1971, 1,949 inhabitants.

Policy

The council has 21 seats, mayor of the municipality is Rudolf Bscheid, chief officer Ing feudal peasant Bscheid.

In the municipal elections of 2005, the SPÖ and the ÖVP reached 12 9 mandates. In the municipal elections of 2010, the Social Democrats lost one seat to the FPÖ, who moved to the municipal council.
