Sankt Veit im Innkreis

St. Veit im Innkreis ( also Sankt Veit im Innkreis ) is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel with 412 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The competent court is the district court district of Braunau am Inn.

Geography

Sankt Veit im Innkreis is located on 411 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 3.6 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 2.8 km. The total area is 5.4 km ². 9.4% of the area is forested, 84.9 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian. The locks Wimhub and Brunnthal Sankt Veit belonged from the 16th to the 19th century, the barons of Hackledt, many family members are buried in the church of St. Vitus, where some grave stones remember them. 1779 came after the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then, Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

Mayor is Manfred Feichtinger of the ÖVP.

Population Development

In 1991 the community had 403 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 367 inhabitants.
