Sanok Castle

The Sanok Royal Castle (Polish: Zamek Krolewski w Sanoku ) is located in the Polish town of Sanok castle high on the banks of the San and today houses the historical museum of the city. The gallery is the only one of its kind in Europe and was inaugurated as the first in the world on 19 May 2012.

Of interest is the collection of icons in the castle of Sanok, all the icons that have emerged in south-eastern Poland from the 14th to the 20th century, as well as the open-air museum in the Biała Góra district, which is the only Ruthenian collection of icons in Poland - it's to Saint Petersburg and Kiev the largest collection - owns.
