Sanrio

K. K. Sanrio (Japanese株式会社 サンリオ, Kabushiki - gaisha Sanrio, Eng. Sanrio Co., Ltd.. ) Is a Japanese wholesale company with its headquarters in Shinagawa, Tokyo Prefecture.

The business activities are primarily design and sales of gift items, greeting cards and books, operation of restaurants, production, promotion and distribution of films, planning and presentation of musicals and other live performances, licensing, and the planning and operation of amusement parks. The sale of gift items this generates 90% of sales and the amusement park segment 6.9%.

It is also known outside of Japan through its products, which relate to the kawaii segment of Japanese culture. The best known of these are the Hello Kitty products, which account for about half of the turnover of one billion U.S. dollars. Other well-known figures alongside Hello Kitty are Keroppi, Badtz - Maru, Chococat and My Melody.

The two Company-operated amusement parks in Japan Sanrio Puroland in Tama area and Harmonyland in Hiji.

The subsidiary K. K. Kokoro is under the name Actroid androids ago, the most famous product is Repliee Q1.
