Santa Cruz Youth Union

The Unión Juvenil Crucenista ( Youth Union of Santa Cruz ) ( UJC ) is a militant, right-wing extremist group from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Founded in 1957 as an arm of the Pro Santa Cruz Committee ( Comite Pro Santa Cruz ) SANTA CRUZ HASTA LAS Lucha CÍVICAS DEL 11 % ( version of 25 October 2007 on the Internet Archive ), the UJC recently the subject of controversy and accusations was because of their activities in support of the Santa Cruz autonomy movement against the government of Evo Morales and his political party MAS.

Claiming to have two thousand members, put the UJC force the required by the Pro Santa Cruz Committee general civil strike through, intimidated left-wing opponents and attacked them, created " security " for the autonomy referendum in Santa Cruz on May 4, 2008, and took in violent clashes during the day in the vote. Two members of the UJC were arrested and accused of plans to assassinate Evo Morales on 20 June 2008 forged. For the accused, the police found at an airport before the arrival of the President with a rifle scope and ammunition.
