Santiago de María is a municipality in the departments Usulután in the Central American country of El Salvador. In 2007, there were 14,339 inhabitants. It is located in the mountains and is surrounded by Cerros. After Usulután, capital of the department, is about 25 km.
Santiago is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Santiago de María.
Economy
Santiago de María is a coffee -growing region. There are three major coffee processing plants here.
