São José do Rio Pardo is a city in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It was founded on 4 April 1865 by Colonel Colonel Antônio Nogueira Marcal de Barros.

The city is located in the hinterland of Campinas near the border with Minas Gerais. The neighboring towns are Mococa, Tapiratiba, Casa Branca, Itobi, São Sebastião da Grama, Divinolândia and Caconde.
