SAP IS-U

SAP for Utilities ( SAP IS -U = Industry Solution Utilities ) is an industry-specific software solution within the SAP ERP product of the software company SAP AG for the supply industry, in particular electricity, gas and water utilities, and the waste disposal industry. It includes the management of customer data, billing of energy services or network usage charges, device management (electricity, gas, water meters ), maintenance and operation, sales processing, customer service and open item accounting.

The IS- U components IDEX IDEX -GE and GG ( Intercompany Data Exchange Extended - German Electricity and German gas ) are used to implement the legal requirements deregulation in the German energy market. Deregulation means separation (unbundling ) of the transmission and distribution of an energy company of production and distribution and non-discriminatory network access for all market prospects for the utilities industry.
