Sara (Band)

Sara is a Finnish Alternative-Rock/Metal-Band from Kaskinen.

Band History

Sara was founded in the small coastal town Kaskinen mid -1990s by Jorma Korhonen, Antti Tuomivirta, Tommi Koivikko and Kristian Udd. 1997 was added drummer Eetu Uusitalo. In 1999, when Sara ääni yes vimma, the biggest music competition in Finland for newcomers in part, and won it, after which the band then received a recording contract with the label Kråklund Records shortly. In spring 2000 there appeared the debut album Narupatsaat.

2001 different Eetu Uusitalo left the band and was replaced by Niko Leminen. Kromi (Eng. chrome), the second album was released in 2002 and debuted at number 9 in the Finnish album charts. As early as next year, the third album Saattue. It was on the charts with space 27 is not quite as successful as its predecessor, but with the song Ylimäärä (English comprehension), in which they received support from Diablo singer Rainer Nygård, the first single of the band rises in the charts and achieved 16th place

After the band for three years, took a break in order to re- start in connection with the drummer Andreas Backlund, who joined the band in 2005. They found a new record label Universal Music and released there luokseen in September 2006, their fourth album Hey kutsuivat, which debuted at number 12 in the charts. The resulting single from the momentum even reached # 4

On May 21, appeared in 2008 with the Vedas äärelle the fifth and most successful album of Sara.
