Sara Larsson

Sara Larsson ( born May 13, 1979 in Kristinehamn ) is a Swedish football player who plays in defense.

Career

Clubs

Since this year, she plays for the KIF Örebro, after they played in the U.S. Women's Professional Soccer Philadelphia Independence in 2010. Before that, she played for Linköpings FC in Sweden, where she twice won the Swedish Cup and for the team now dismantled St. Louis Athletica.

Before joining the LFC in 2004, she played six years for Malmö FF.

National

In September 2000, she debuted in the Swedish national team of women after they had earlier denied 12 U-23 and U-19 seven games.

Sara Larsson was elected in 2000 in Sweden for Rookie of the Year.

Sara Larsson participated with the Swedish national team in two World Cups for women in 2003 and 2007, where she was Vice World Champion 2003.

In 2009, she was in the squad of the Swedish selection for the European Football Championship in Finland, where they came in a preliminary round game used. On 9 March 2011 she made at the Algarve Cup in the match against Japan her 100th international game.

For the World Cup, it is also nominated. She got in all three group matches in the starting lineup and reached with her team undefeated the quarter-finals, where they met with the Australians. Again, Larsson was back in the starting lineup and with a 3-1 win both the semifinal against Japan has been reached, as well as qualifying for the London Olympics. On July 16, 2011, she won with the team the 3rd place match in a 2-1 victory over France.
