Biography

Sarah Brendel was raised in the Lower Saxon town of Vechta. At age 16, she began to make music. She was inspired by Bob Dylan and Larry Norman. After Jens Zander, a budding sound engineers, their first songs recorded in a studio in East Frisia, this tape recordings spread quickly. So Albert Frey Sarah Brendel heard songs and produced her 1998 debut EP Higher Hope, with the same Sarah got a record deal. Only a few years later Sarah took in Kansas City, USA, with Kevin Prosch their album Subrosa on.

In 2003 he was the second album, Under the Fire, produced by Udo Rinklin. Also this album was released in the United States. In 2004, Sarah Brendel numerous concerts, including with Daniel Benjamin, and wrote new songs. Sarah Brendel was at this time also a member of the project sign of the times, which includes among others Xavier Naidoo, Laith Al- Deen and Yvonne Catterfeld belonged. She sang in the hit song You are not alone, who was in Germany for 20 weeks in the top 10 of the charts.

In the U.S.

Through the contacts of their German label was the way to get a record deal with the U.S. label Inpop Records for Sarah Brendel. In summer 2005, the album Sarah Brendel, containing mainly songs from the album Under the Fire, was published in the United States. Sarah Brendel spent several months living in Nashville, USA, and went on tour in the United States. In winter 2005, she returned to Germany, took on 2 December 2005 their EP One Day Recordings and gave concerts in Germany and in other European countries.

Back in Germany

2006 Sarah entered the first time in two years in Germany again with tape. Their songs were not as pop - oriented as we were used from the album Under the Fire, but clearly influenced by indie rock with folk influences. She played over 150 concerts in 2006. 2007 played Sarah Brendel and her band next concerts in Germany at festivals in Denmark, Slovakia, the Netherlands and the Faroes. In 2008 she gave a concert at Freakstock Festival in Gotha and played in Switzerland and Hungary. In these two years, they played more than 250 concerts. For a recording session in May 2007 in Berlin, she was able to Larry Norman, who was on tour in Europe, winning and sang with him two songs that can be heard on their new album. In September 2008, their album Early Morning Hours appeared in media Gerth.

Artist community Röhrsdorf

The end of 2008 Sarah Brendel moved to Röhrsdorf castle. In 2009 she became a mother. In 2010 she was awarded in 4 categories with the German Rock & Pop Award of DRMV. In 2011 she began recording a new album in a studio in Röhrsdorf castle. In 2012 she was the second time mother.

Special concerts and performances

  • 2005 Brendel played at the World Youth Day in Cologne.
  • In May 2006, Sarah Brendel joined with Rebecca St. James on the Faroes. This concert was there one of the biggest concerts in the last 10 years, they also opened for The Rasmus in a large Faroe Festival.
  • In early October 2007, she appeared in Los Angeles on in the biggest television worship in the world.
  • In March 2009, Sarah and her band played a prison tour.
