Sârbii-Măgura
Sârbii - Măgura is a municipality in the northeast of the circle Olt, in the Great Wallachia in Romania.
Geographical location
Sârbii - Magura is located on the county road (drum Judetean ) DJ 657B at an altitude of about 182 meters above sea level at the creek Vediţa and comprises about 42 km ². The municipality is bordered to the south directly to Corbu, on the north by Optasi - Măgura. Sârbii - Magura is located about 25 kilometers southeast of the small town Scorniceşti; the district capital Slatina about 42 kilometers southwest of Sârbii - Măgura away.
History
The village Vităneşti was separated from the municipality Optasi - Măgura 2003 and has since formed the community Sârbii - Măgura. The village Vităneşti are assigned to the hamlet Cosereni, Ungheni, Vităneştii - Mici, Braniste and Sârbi.
The name part Sârbii is identical in meaning with the Romanian name for the Serbs.
The Romanian writer Nicolae Oprea was born in 1950 in Sârbii - Măgura and is a member of " Writers' Union of Romania ".
