Sarvestan

Sarvestan, also Sarvestan, Sarvistan (Persian سروستان ), is a city in the province of Fars in Iran. It is located 80 km southeast of Shiraz, capital of Fars Province. Sarvestan counts about 17,000 inhabitants.

In the area of wheat, pistachios and olives are cultivated.

The Palace of Sarvestan, Lehmziegelruine a few kilometers south of the city, plays a significant role in Iranian art history and is usually dated to the Sasanian period in the 5th century. According to a study by Lionel beer of the construction was, however, built 750-950 AD.
