SÄ…tok

Satok ( German Zantoch, 1937-45: Neuscholle ) is a village with about 160 inhabitants in the urban and rural community Bierutów, Oleśnicki powiat in Poland. The place is located 9 km southwest of Bierutów halfway to Jelcz - Laskowice.

History

In 1268 the present town Satok was first documented under the name Zamdovici, then in 1530 under the name Czantachow mentioned. When the place got the name Zantoch, is documented undetectable.

The former mansion that was the castle and seat of a settler, is now inhabited by four families practice farming. Zantoch was once a manor in the district of oil which has been settled in 1935 and received in 1937 the name Neuscholle. " New plaice " means " new land " and refers to the 10 to 50 acre settlement sites. This former manor house is a listed building since 1945.

Almost all the buildings are inhabited, since these homes but the residents do not belong, were other than minor renovations in the residential areas still not carried out extensive restorations. The management plans for the future, both to build in place a central wastewater treatment plant, as to the community water supply that needs to be moved from the south area to connect the inhabitants.

In the village there was a distillery, to the distillery cellar and the pond for the exchange, needed in the distillery cooling water. The distillery pond was both earlier and now a fishing pond with carp and additional fish stock, the distillery cellar was for the youth a popular sledding hill. The distillery was after she had collapsed due to the dilapidated state in itself, completely demolished in the 50s. In the same village square, opposite the Mill that was built in the late 1930s by the villagers as a war memorial for the fallen soldiers of the war of 1870 /71 and 1914/18. It was maintained until 20 January 1945 by the residents. Then the monument was destroyed.
